Tour du Mont Blanc and Landscape Photography

The Tour du Mont Blanc or TMB is one of the most popular long-distance walks in Europe. It circles the Mont Blanc massif, covering a distance of roughly 170 kilometres with 10 kilometres of ascent/descent and passes through parts of Switzerland, Italy and France...or at least that is what Wikipedia says.

The real TMB is indeed a very popular 170 kilometres trek that circumnavigates the Mont Blanc massif, but from a photographer's perspective is so much more. I decided to trek from Val Ferret in Switzerland to Les Contamines in France, thus walking clockwise. I find clockwise to be preferable as you meet less people, but since I was out in October when the huts are closed, it doesn't really matter as there are virtually no people on the trails. For me, this is the best time of year to trek.
